Enrolment of children with disabilities at Turner School is done through a centralised process. Please contact Disability Education on 62059391 for more information.
In keeping with the Directorate enrolment policy and procedures, Turner School accepts mainstream student enrolments in the following priority:
1. Students who reside in the Turner Priority Placement Area (PPA)
2. Siblings of current Turner students (ACT residents outside of Turner PPA)
3. ACT resident students outside of Turner PPA
4. NSW resident students
From term 2 2013 Turner School is in a position to consider enrolments from families outside the Turner PPA where capacity exists in that year level. Please contact the school to complete an enrolment enquiry.
Dates for 2014 Enrolment
30 April 2013- Enrolment processes commence. Enrolment applications may be submitted either electronically or by hard copy at the school.
Friday 10 May 2013 1.30pm - Preschool information session and open session in the preschool rooms, David Street.
Wednesday 12 June 2013 - 2014 K-6 Information session and tour 7pm in the Library. (Families who missed the preschool information session may attend this session.)
Friday 5 July 2013- Enrolments close (enrolments P-6 after this date will be considered on an individual basis).
Friday 16 August - Guided tours of Turner School for new families (children and their parents) 9.30-10.30am from the Condamine Street entrance to the school.
Start of term 3 2013 - First round offers of preschool placement sent to families. K-6 placement offers made throughout terms 3 and 4.
End of term 3 2013 (September) - Preschool enrolment packs sent to families and enrolment processes completed.
Term 4 2013 (December) - Preschool interviews with 2014 teachers. Transition visits scheduled for P-6 new students.
Friday 13 December, 12.30-1.30pm - Turner School Transition Day. All Turner children and new children attending Turner in 2014 spend the middle session of the day with their 2014 peers.
Preschool Enrolments 2014
Children who have a birthday between 1 May 2009 and 30 April 2010 are eligible to enrol in preschool for 2014. Turner School will accept preschool 2014 enrolments from day 1 of term 2, 29 April 2013.
An information session and open afternoon for interested families will be held in the preschool rooms on Friday 10th May, 2013.
